Did you plant the thought subliminally over many weeks? Seriously thats great & I'm sure we all look forward to your thoughts after surgery.

| | Posted : 05 Jan 2011 - 15:30 Post title : Re: christmas present (Re: fab) | | | I got the SE for Christmas, so I could keep up with HER! I was floored when she said in the dealership, lets get that bike, it's you when I was taking a test sit. Already had done 2 test rides. I think I will keep her (both bike and wife of now 3 decades) She started on an Eliminator 125-that lasted 2 days. Then a Suzuki Savage 650 belt drive. 3 weeks later she moved up to a Suzuki VS800. Now called the Boulevard S50-sorta kinda looks a little like the T16 but has been in production since 1985. It's a quick bike, 13.4 sec 1/4 mile. It was so much faster than my Shadow 750 that we got the Tbird so I could keep up (or we could ride 2 up) She is under 100 lbs and can handle the 800cc Intruder better than the 250's as it's narrow. If I have learned one thing it's if your wife wants to go riding never tell her NO!! She is addicted to riding! My advice to other guys here is when taking your women riding passenger go slow and smooth and do not ever take corners leaning over much. I tried this and 6 weeks later she took the course. My friends who haul ass with wifes and girlfriends are riding alone. Always let the spouse pick out their own ride!
Happy New Years,
Capt T
PS if she goes with the Vrod I have to get a BB kit! \
BIG EDIT-
Damn, I forgot the all important sissy bar with padded back rest plus big cushy seat like the Triumph Longhaul (perhaps the best factory seat I have ever ridden on) Also passenger floor boards really inspire confidence in not falling off the bike to the new passenger . I installed all three on my bikes, usually a Corbin or Mustang seat with the biggest passenger seat they make....new riders are scared witless and making them not have to sit on a tiny little button of a seat or bare fender makes them a happier passenger. Getting your woman matching riding gear worked well for me as well. Good luck to all getting your woman on 2 wheels.
