I saw $14,799 is the suggested retail price for the new 1700 Triumph Storm, and $12,499 for the 1600 base Thunderbird model for 2011 in the Motrocyclist. That correct? Also, are ABS optional on the Storm? Did not see ABS in the specs. Staying the the SE for touring and other long jaunts, just curious.

Sounds about right. ABS is standard on the Storm and $1000 on the non-poser model. So, 12,499 + 1000 = 13,499 + 800 for the BB kit = 14300 + 500 for the install (normally $700 - $1200) Not a bad deal (other than all the crap you'll have to replace on it so you don't look like a tool)

Still think I'm diplomatic narsisco?

My dealer was just telling me there isn't a 2011 SE, I haven't looked at the Triumph site yet though.

Is this an 'on the road ' price or do you have to pay out more to get a ride out of it ?

30 minutes from now, when I start weekend, I'm going to see my dealer.

Mr. salesman supposed to contact me 1½ weeks ago and I've heard nothing of him Maybe business is still too good to have real customer service. I'm afraid that the bike will cost something like 23000 euros....

Edit : Did the math again (stupid me). 30392$ = 23000 euros = 19728£... I think it's time to think about moving to somewhere else...

Tried that, and on two different occasions the "salesman" asked, in as many words, "Are you sure you can afford this?"

When I got my last bike I went into a dealer ready to buy wearing jeans with holes in them, I couldn't get a salesman to look at me, stood around for at least a half an hour, I left and went a different dealer and bought the bike. I should have gone back or wrote to them saying what happened but didn't.

This year my season started on 9th of april and ended somewhere in the middle of october so.....hmm....6 months and some days on the top of that.....Don't get me started with the prices of insurance in Finland....

Edit : Oh, and Thatch. The world could not get any smaller as I was in Limburg and Idstein 4 days last week. Can't recall where you live right now other than little north from Frankfurt so lets just say, few months back you were thousands of kilometres away from where I live and yet we were in ~20km radius just last week

Actually only 15km. I live in Kelkheim a quick backroad run from Idstein. Shame we couldn't of managed a beer out of your time here. If you come back through again, just let me know.

As for the time on the roads, well 6 months is not too bad. Feels like I've been off my bike at least that long already.

6 months off the bike makes me appreciate the 6 months on it a whole lot more. I think, that if I could ride all year, I'd be bored to death in 3 to 4 years. It is such a rush in april when I get a chance to 'punish' my tbird again after a 6 months of darkness and freezing temps.

I was on service training for 4 days and the schedule was so tight, I couldn't even get my Bags Connection Traveller HD luggage that I planned to get while I was in Germany. Not to mention the ridicilous re-booking/cancelled flight episodes and sleepless nights in hotel where I usually can sleep max. 2 hours in a row. Training is once a year and usually pretty tight scheduled and quided activity only but maybe next summer I'll ride to Schwelm where my aunt lives and get a little tour de Germany (always dreamed of seeing superbike or motogp race at Assen or Nurburgring or Sachsenring). That is a plan for next summer if I don't trade my bike. If I do, can't afford such a trip but I'll keep that beer in mind

Edit : Typos, typos, typos.

The facts are that there are very limited numbers of the SE models still available from this year. I would imagine they will be snapped up pretty quickly. The ABS brakes, deep, comfortable seat, footboards, sissy bar and luggage racks are well worth the price in my experience. Getting about 42.5 mpg on this bike, really nice for regular gas. It is just plain fun to ride. If you plan to get an SE A1, it had best be sooner than later.

I don't mind, really. Got it for $16.000 U.S. out the door and enjoying the snot out of it. Thatch, why don't you hone in on that red color selected for the SE. That will raise some dander. I have seen a number of Motor Company vehicles in my rear view mirror, where they typically remain.
