A couple of good articles on the TBird in this months Triumph mag. Trying to find them on the interweb but dont seem to be posted yet. A nice silver bird with mono-shock and scalopped tank, shortened fenders and a 250 back tyre on an 18'' rim.
I used to get this e-mailed but now its in paper copy.
Anyone got it e-mailed.

Hi mat1600
Where do you get your Triumph mag from, because I have never had one.

You can subscribe on line. Or pop into your dealer and steal one.

I think mine came about when I signed lots of things when I bought the Bird. I signed all sorts of things just to get out of there and onto the Bird .

Matt, your correct - as we both bought from the same dealer, I remember being asked to fill in a form for the RAT membership and the mag FOC for the year I think

I have been getting mine for a while and I don't bother with RAT.

I have had the 'Bird for over a year now and the magazine keeps coming. To get the magazine you need to register with Triumph themselves as RAT are separate. If you own a Triumph you can get one (I think that is how it works).

Anyway - the Triumph magazine was a good read particularly liked the Thunderbirds v NYC and JJ Burnel articles.

Thanks for that link, apparently easier than trying to maintain a subscription. When I get more time I am going to get into the archive section to see what I have missed for the last two years or so.

Thanks again,

Thanks much for this link. When I bought my Bird, the dealer told me the would give me a subscription to this mag. They also told me they were going to give me a gift certificate to be used for whatever. Neither of those things have ever appeared. No big deal, I figured they were a little pissy because they tried to sell me an extended warranty 3 times and I politely refused 3 times, (I have no desire to start a thread on extended warranties, I just don't like them and don't buy them). Anyhow, I'ved enjoyed reading the magazine online.

Thanks for that link, Sam

This just reminded me that I'm SURE I signed up for the mag on RAT and have NEVER got one! Gonna have to look into this.

By the way, I like some of the details of those custom 'Birds and I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of it... especially when Alain finishes his Coffee 'Bird.

I'll say it too, thanks for the link I really like that Tiger, if I were to get the bird a companion, that would be it.

Yep, I'd love to have the Tiger 800XC as a stable-mate for my 'Bird.

Well I would have chosen the new tigger, but having seen the red and white Thruxton at my dealer, I have now changed my mind on a stable mate for the Bird. Also got me salivating was watching the whole series of Cafe Racer on the tv. Gotta build myself one of those. Its a chance to have a classic looking race bike and not have to join rank with the insect looking riders with their sport bikes.

A few days ago I chimed in on this thread and bad mouthed my dealer because I hadn't received any magazines as promised. Today, after being gone on a short trip, I discovered in my mail the latest issue of the magazine. So must say if you need to eat your words, do so, andI hereby do. I didn't mention my dealers name in my post , and don't know if they monitor this but I'll send them a seperate e-mail . I can just hear some of you in other parts of the world saying "goddamn yanks are so impatient!". I guess it's true.

More like 'all good thing come to those that wait' --- even impatient yanks.

Enjoy the read.

So, after complaining that I've NEVER received a print copy of the Triumph Magazine... it showed up in today's mail. Go figure.

Anyway, after taking a VERY look at Josef Podlipnig's Motorradklink "Thunderbird Mutation "(pg. 16 - 18) all I can say is... WOW, I want this bike! (Well, I might skip the mirrors, but that's such a minor detail )

you would be out on it once and never again. had one in silver for a season and that was a season too long.
alright if you like straights and wide bends, follow bluenose and he will have eaten his meal, drank his beer, leaked and be ready to ride on before you arrive.
