I currently have a Thunderbird setup with stock pipes without the cat but was curious on feedback on sound/performance on some combinations with the drilled baffle

(Re: Davisnub) | | I started with a few small holes but it was still to quite so I drilled a 1 3/8" hole with a step bit. I cut the cat open and gutted it and welded stainless pipes inside. It has a nice deep sound. Then I bought long tors I don't like their sound to raspy I put my drilled pipes back on. Mine is a 2010 with the bbkit and custom tune.

(Re: Davisnub) | | Ok, if you make the stock pipes free flowing you may find that the exhaust note becomes unpleasant, that's been the case with many who tried elbows with TORS or similar mufflers. A proper bypass such as the Meerkat gives a better sound.

(Re: Davisnub) | | I started with TORS and it was barely a noticeable difference from stock, got rid of the CAT and had TORS with the elbows...it was alot louder than stock but a harsh sound and quite a bit of popping. Ended up drilling out the baffles on the stockers and installed them with the elbows and the sound was way better. It was just as loud as the TORS with elbows but the sound was alot deeper and better, and there didnt seem to be as much popping and the bike performed the same. ended up selling the TORS...
