This is a nice bag. Has a steel frame so it keeps its shape and fits nicely and securely on the Bird's luggage rack. Its also part of a system so you can add more bags. I highly recommend it and it is relatively inexpensive. Link

I have been thinking about ordering it but I have the Curved Rack so I didn't know how it would sit. Also, did you try it with the passenger seat? I notice that the bolts holding the mudguard in the pictures are for either a quick release saddlebag or the sissy bar. I would guess that the hold down straps could fasten to them if they don't hit the paint on the mudguard.
Anyway, I do like it and it's not too expensive.

I've used it on the rack on my sissy bar and works well. I could also attach it to the pillion part of the dual long haul seat and use the QR spools to loop onto, I'd imagine.

I'm not sure it would work well on the curved rack. The bag is designed to strap onto a back rest and also has a strap that goes under the luggage rack. The way that I attached the bag (Birdy did as well), was to use the four straps that are intended to connect two Iron Rider bags together. That may sound strange, but it allows the bag to be connected to the four corners of the luggage rack, which plants the bag VERY securely on the rack and without having to connect to anything other than the rack.
You could consider getting the luggage rack to use with luggage (like this bag) and then switch back to the curved racked for show. I don't have a curved rack, but have considered one because I like the looks. I would still use the standard luggage rack when I need to carry luggage.

EnGage - You know the Velcro strap that's on the riders side? Well I actually use that to hold a bicycle bottle (of water) in there!
I opened up the strap - placed a bottle in there - then wrapped the strap around! You can see the strap is formed to hold the bottle in the pictures below... You can't see the bottle as I have it in my hand ;)
BRILLIANT!

Little late on this topic but Yes Vic, it does sit on the Pillion, my first 1550 mile trip that was what I did and I had a roll pack strapped to the top of it (one of the additional bag components) I don't have a back rest so it was not as secure as with the luggage rack but it stayed put for the whole trip, wobbled only because the seat compresses.
These are great little numbers used it stacked on the trip to New York and and more stuff on it than you can imagine for 2464 miles! And this is the over night and the SMALL Pack Roll! I used bungee nets to hold other stuff in and used the straps Birdy referred to to hold my rain suit and coat for a back rest.

Hi Eddy - I really like this system but I dont think its available in the UK so would have to order from you in the States - can you confirm that this pic is just the overnight and a roll pack - How large is the main bag then?
Do you stock the full range?
Cheers

Correct the bottom bag is the Overnight and the top is the Small Roll Bag...I am pretty sure. I also have my laptop strapped to the forward part of the Overnight as well as my rain gear and or coat in this photo using a Bungee net.
Here is the Main Bag on the fender rack of my America to give you a visual, here are the dimensions of the bags as well. And yes I do have them all.
Roll Bag: 14" wide x 6.5" high x 10.5" deep. No frame
Overnight: 14" wide x 9" high x 10.5" deep, has a metal frame (this one is really great for the Thunderbird Tube Rack looks good on there for daily use and handy as all get out.)
Main Bag: 18" X 11" X 11" (Expandable zippered end compartments expands to to 22" wide) metal frame for stacking support and maintains shape even when empty.
The Overnight sits between the smaller sections just above the straps securing it down in the picture so you have an idea for size

I have the sissy bar/rack and use the Dowco/Iron rider main bag and overnight bag. Because of the curves in the sissy bar it doesn't fit perfect but it fits and I have taken 2 major trips with them.

I tried a couple of other bags but nothing fit for me. This bag is fantastic. Has a hard shell to maintain shape, plenty of storage space, enough for 2 helmets in the main center section. I did have to cut a 1/4" thick piece of plastic the shape/size of the bottom of the bag and tie wrap it to the luggage rack. The bag over hangs the back edge by about 3". It keeps it from sagging over as it is bigger then the luggage rack. To me it's the perfect bag and I looked around for quit a while. Runs about $170-$180 USD.

Very solid & secure (comes with it's own combi cable lock) yet it unhitches in seconds, and it comes with a range of fitting alternatives. If you intend to use it the other way around on the sissy bar, on the pillion seat, with it's underseat pad, you have to remove the rubber pads from under the seat. Only downside was it cost me £180 (=$288), but it was the only bag I could find for my needs.
Wont hold 2 full face helmets though.

I mean, can we talk?? lol lol Anyways,I can now store two 3/4 helmets in it,[I didn't try full helemts although they just might fit] and still have room for other stuff. What a difference between before and after I put this bag on.It's not too big and it's not too small. And like the Bird pictured above with the bag on it,It actually fits the machine and does not detract from it.Some day when the wife breaks out her camera again,I'll have her take some pics like she did of the lowers I made, and post em in the albums section. But I wanna install my radio set up and my home made passin lamp set up, first. Then we'll see about the pictures.
