I searched the forum, but didn't see a thread about anyone installing LT or Commander designed exhaust (stock, TORS, V&H, etc.) on a a TB1600 or 1700. I like the look and the layout of the pipes. It appears that the connection pipe from the head pipe to the connection of the muffler may only take the 45 degree elbow that quite a few of us are already using or something very similar. The heat shields appear to also be a little different. But with the LT or Commander heat shields, it looks like pipes for those bikes would work on a 1600/1700 with minimal effort. Has anyone tried this?

I have not, but I have a set of stock Commander slip-ons in excellent condition,1500 miles. I would part with those for a reasonable offer if your looking to experiment.

As far as I know, they won't mount to a "regular" Bird without major mods. Mount locations are different. The Commander/LT cat is in each pipe. And a few other orientation issues to get it lined up. Of course, with $$$ anything is possible.
