alright lads, I did it yesterday and I loved it. It feels lighter and is much more nimble than any of the previous model Bonnies. and it would as it is a new frame and new motor. I am neither a bike reviewer nor a marketer, so I wouldnt use terms like "entry level", a derogatory term in my mind, and technical terms like "Torque" is still just fuckin' grunt to me. and the street twin has oodles of grunt, and I took it to 80kph in first gear with more left in it and it was still pulling. it was easy to ride in the traffic, and the single disc on the front is more than adequate. Pirelli something or other tyres seem good too, and I scrubbed them in a bit more on the bends and the bike holds its lines well. the upright standard riding position was comfy and the seat is wider and top quality too, as is the fit and finish of the whole bike. it has a chromed lockable fuel cap, and it is just nitpicking but I think brushed aluminium would look better. the dash is nice and simple with single clock, with switchable traction control with simple click of a switch, and a gear indicator to tell you that you are still in first at 80 clicks per hour. and the note from the stock pipes didnt actually sound too bad either. all an all I would say it is a cracking bike, I loved it and could ride it again today. I wish i could have demo'd one but my dealer doesn't have demos, tho they have sold 2 of them the first week they were on the floor. I like what i saw and the reviews, but every time i get on my 1700 i just can't imagine trading it for the ST. I wish i could have both but i can't. So i'm hanging onto the bird and waiting for the speedmaster. If they update that with the 1200 engine and it looks droolworthy i doubt i will be able to resist selling the Tbird.

I guess I just got used to the heavy bike, but lf I could afford both? yup would be in the stable for sure.

I do imagine that the 1200 will go into the speedmaster and America models though. Trumpet would be mad not to do that. time will tell. I did learn that the Scrambler is finished. so if anyone is cashed up and wants the last Matt Pacific Blue one left in Australia, the dealership has it sitting on the floor. with all the change at Triumph, and the upcoming models, life has never been better. cheers Dermot

'twould mean the same thing, one would imagine. In the language of olde England, from whence it came, would imply a life of indulgence and enrichment. "porter and skittles", though porter is only called such nowadays in the west of Ireland as far as I have observed, where giant Connemara men skull pints of Guinness, in between playing the fiddle and poking the fire. Skittles being a pub game of old where you throw a ball to topple said skittles. a kind of ancestor to the ten pin bowling, that if I am correct, the yanks invented. "beer and skittles", beer being beer in any language obviously toppled the "the much too old fashioned" term 'porter', when the new hipsters of the 1600's or 1700's sauntered in to the saturday night skittle games at the Inn and ordered a lager and a game of skittles, there was blood spilt and friendships lost and families fractured, but the "porter crowd" being fiercely stoic, eventually buckled and a compromise was found, hence the term "beer and skittles". friendships were rebuilt, grown men drank hard and threw balls at skittles, and cried on the shoulders of other grown men. and from that day to this, many of us feel that the "Porter/lager wars" of the mid 1600's has given us the oportunity to live a life of indulgence and enrichment. and for that we tip our hats.
Dermot
ps. what could it possibly mean in the U.S?

skittles in this part of the U.S. does not have that rich history. it does imply a life of indulgence and enrichment. like alcohol tabacco and other smokables it has its 'painless' platform that may spit blood by fracturing friendships lost.
enjoy your cigars mate. party on.

Felt tiny to ride, wind on was surprising when overtaking, definately felt better to me that the T100, felt like it was pulling stronger.
Thinking of trading down to something smaller, keen to get on a T120 when they arrive at the dealers.
Footrests look to be an inch or two further forward on the pictures of the 120.
So far impressed with what I've seen.

Still plenty of porter beers available in England, when the Irish community latched onto a certain dark drink in London, it got called porter after the people drinking it! Then a stronger version came along and was named "extra stout porter" which is where the word stout came from to describe Guinness type beers. Porter was actually an accident - invented in Oxford Street London by mistake (burning instead of smoking the hops when making a mild) the brewer had no money left for new hops so make the beer anyway. So just to p off the Irish readers - Guinness is actually a copy of an English drink! - Sorry to break the bad news chaps!
Where were we? - oh yes T120s! Can't wait!
