This is a pretty simple thing to do once you have the right "Bits for the Job".

I wanted mine to look like it was supposed to be there and NOT something shaking or vibrating on the end of a number of mounting brackets. after some discussions with Guido an a PM to Matt, I decided to combine both their experiences.

I firstly bought a "Ultimate Addon's" 25mm Socket to AMPS adaptor". this adaptor bolts directly to the Garmin GPS Mounting Base or any other AMPS type base . It is a gland type adaptor that grips the 1"or 25mm AMPS mounting ball.

I then bought a Ram Mount "RAM-B-108" handle bar mount, which is pretty self explanatory in the pictures.

The mounting is very straight forward and as I said originally "it looks like it supposed to be there" and is placed in a comfortable position for viewing as well as operating it when mobile.

The final thing to do was to run the wiring, and instead of going back to the battery or fuse gear, I decided that I wanted the power source to be "Key Active" and after some discussion with Matt I decided to use the Headlight Park Light which is part of the Lighting circuit and is protected by a 15am fuse. The GPS also comes with a 2am fuse and requires less than 2 amps to operate. The Park Light is next to Bloody useless as the light are on at the same time anyway and you don't even know its there or on so I decide to delete/unplug it from the system use the park light wiring for the GPS which was a simple task of adding two spade type connectors to the GPS wiring and plug them straight into the the park light wires.
( Red to Yellow & Black to Black)

The GPS fires up and powers down via the Key, so no chance of leaving it running when not in use.
