Hey everyone. What alternatives do we have to the factory Triumph floorboards? I was looking at a couple of products by Kuryakyn until I found that they require a splined adapter which they do not make for the 09 -14 Thunderbird. They do make a tapered adapter, but that adapter does not work with the Kuryakyn splined products. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Check www.fasteddysports.com . He's a distributor and a thunderbird owner so he's tested what he sells for it. If you still have questions after checking there, you can call or email him and he'll get back to you.

First place I looked. One thing is that a set of the pegs/boards he sells only use splined adapters and he is selling them with the tapered (8840). If you try and use the tapered with pegs/boards that need splined they are going to get loose and start to rotate. Kuryakyn does not make a splined adapter for our bikes. I talked directly with Jeff at Kuryakyn yesterday, so still trying to find a solution.

Rivco used to have a couple of different styles. I believe one was a chromed steel and the other was a billet aluminum.. Not sure if they are still available.

Try Kuryakyn splined adapter 8813. They fit the Rocket 3 and they fit my Speedmaster (even though Kuryakyn said they wouldn't) so chances are they'll fit the Thunderbird. I have the link to my Speedmaster thread about them over on your post in the other forum. Again I don't know if the 8813 will fit for sure but I can guarantee they fit the Rocket (so says Kuryakyn) and I know for a fact they fit the Speedmaster since I had them on mine so it would be worth giving them a shot if you're still interested in those mini boards. I can't believe that Triumph would have two of their cruisers use the same size peg mounts and not share the same size with the Thunderbird but I've been surprised before.

I put in Kuryakyn Dually wide pegs with stirrup heel rests. You can see it here Link along with my solution for locking down the unsplined adapters.

I have confirmed the fitment of a splined adapter for the Thunderbirds/Storms

They also have a range of mini boards and full boards that allow for more options for angle than any.

Also, the Swingwings will now work.

If they are smart they will do away with the tappered.

Putting the whole line up on my site this weekend.

Thanks Eddy. I'm guessing it was the 8813 I had on my Speedmaster. They do make some nice stuff. If my Storm hadn't come with factory boards I probably would have gone with the mini boards again as I loved them on the Speedy.

Hi guys
I ordered before Christmas a set of Kuryakyn mini boards with splined adapter 8881 after making lots of enquirers over the net. Anyway they fit sort of they are too narrow in the adaptor where the pin fits through so i put a spacer in not washers they look shit and had to cut a corner off so they move when you lean too much. i was also in two minds on what to buy and would they fit . Well they do now and you would not know they have been altered as the cut is underneath. would have preferred genuine triumph product but they dont make a mini board. I am happy with them and its different for sure but i need to put the feet flat on long rides just me. Anyway hope this is of some help cheers an beers Ray

Just installed the Kuryakin 8841 adapters and 4351 floorboards. Easy installation and look excellent. Had to adjust the shift lever up one notch and that's it

That's great I did make enquiries via email just to get it right but I don't think it was although its all good now I installed Mini boards I may later get the right adapter its harder in Oz as no one stocks them and the Triumph dealers have bare minimum of anything is the showrooms. Ah well glad it work for you. Ray

Got my adapters and mini-flooraords today from FastEddy's. Love'em. I do have a question. The aluminum spacer that comes with the adapters which way is it supposed or oriented? I have it where it is facing toward the ground. Does that make sense?
