OK, here it is, my best mod yet, it took a lot of planning & parts searching to make this work, but it was well worth it. Thanks to VABird for his JackBeQuick jack stand invention, it gave me the perfect location to mount the air pump, without it this project would not be possible, thank you VABird !!!

PARTS:

- Arnott 9001-BS kit with optional airbag covers from Xchoppers.com.
- Rear JackBeQuick jack stand( no cat version) from VABird
- 5'' X 5'' X 3/16'' steel plate from eBay
- Thunder Cycle TC-001B mini oil pressure gauge( to be used as an air pressure gauge) bought on eBay
- OEM relay grommet bought from bikebandit.com
- 1 Female Elbow 1/4" T - 1/8 NPT push fitting for the back of the air pressure gauge - eBay
- 1 Straight Male Fitting 1/4" T x 1/8" push fitting to attach to the manifold for the air hose to the pressure gauge - eBay

I remove the charcoal canister because i needed that space for the air pump. Then i welded the steel plate to the center of the JackBeQuick (in hind sight I should've welded the plate off center to the right an inch or 2 to create more separation between pump & the manifold because it was tough to get the air line to bend in such a small space)

Welded & painted

air pump & manifold attached

The assembly in place under the motorcycle, i still retain full use of the JackBeQuick

Top view of the air pump

I routed the 2 air lines & the power wires up the left side, there was enough space behind the allen key holder attached to the bike so I routed everything behind that then covered them with split loom to protect everything from rubbing against any metal. I also installed the fuse on the left side, no need to secure it.

There was an empty relay bay on the right side , turned out to be the perfect place to put the air ride relay because it's the same size as the other relays so it looks like it belongs there, i ordered a stock relay grommet from bikebandit.com.

The switch & pressure gauge installation, I placed the gauge to the right to leave room on the left for one more switch for a future LED installation

airbag protective covers only come in chrome so i had them powder coated black.

With & without the airbag covers, (shock filled all the way up)

The rear tire does not rub at all when the shocks are lowered all the way down, i'm guessing a 3'' drop.

Here's a comparison of the stock shock next to the air shock fully inflated

Fully deflated

Nice write up and photos, the lowered rear looks great, hope it rides well.

I think it rides alot better than stock, no bouncing or vibrating, it absorbs minor bumps or holes in the road unlike the stock shocks that vibrate and bounce, I'm 5-10 & I used to tip toe if I put both feet down, with the air shocks all the way up in can place both heels on the ground when stopped, but with this system you're supposed to keep it in the middle, it turned out to be the perfect height for me because when I'm stopped both heels are on the ground & my knees are bent too, very comfortable. I have cornered pretty hard with the shocks in the mid height & there is no scraping anywhere, slamming it down all the way off course is bumpy as hell, I only do that if I'm going real slow on perfect roads with no cornering involved.

Hit me up when it's done, very interested to see how you fit your kit. These bikes have no room for add ons since the air intake is under the seat.

Update... I had to find a more solid gauge, I found this on ebay, it's low pressure gauge from a CO2 tank from a paintball gun, this works great, the last one blew out when I hit a small pot hole, the jump in pressure destroyed the other gauge since it only registered up to 100psi.

That is one sweet suspension, dude I wish you lived closer and I'd hire you to change my bike to an air ride, I had a caddy before with air ride, had my Tahoe changed to air ride, and nothing beats it ....great job
