| | Posted : 25 May 2015 - 17:20 Post title : Hardstreet bag sizes | | | So I am looking at getting some of these, but the capacities listed on their site don't add up.
Front page has the Sixxers listed as 1,600 Sq Inches. Link Shouldn't that be Cubic Inches anyway
Then in the Sixxer description it says 1,400 Square Inches Link
The picture on the front page says 1,800 Square Inches for the Slimbags.... Link
Then in the Slimbags description it says 1,400 Square Inches Link
And on Yamaha Raider page they say 1,300 square inches.....Link Maybe these ones are actually different?
Then there is the math, none of comes even close to adding up. Provided they actually meant Cubic Inches
Sixxers: 12.75"x 18.5"x 8.5"=2,004.94 cubic inches
Slimbags: 22"x 12"x 8"=2,122 cubic inches
Now I understand those are probably external dimensions, and that you will inevitably loose some due to internal dimensions versus external dimensions. Which would most likely have a larger affect on the Slimbags due to the shock cutout and general shape of the bag. But does it really loose 300-700 cubic inches per bag because of this? And the Sixxers loose 400-600 Cubic inches?
How much more do the Slimbags hold than the Triumph bags? Triumph bags are listed at 22 Liters, which comes out to 1,342.52 cubic inches. Depending on how true the numbers are above, they could be significantly larger or not even enough to notice a difference.
ANyone put the classic tour bags on with the detachable backrest and easy brackets? Have any pics of this setup?
