And for a reasonable cost too. That's a combination you rarely find these days. Well done. I can smell a Father's Day present idea here.

Do you have any thoughts of shipping over seas. Like Matt did with the rear wheel adjusters.

Right now, the only shipping I've found overseas is about $60 USD via US priority mail. I suggest waiting until the front bracket is in production and can likely ship both for the same $$. If there's a cheaper way, I'd like to know. Perhaps you can get a dozen orders up and I can ship them together? Then redistribute from there.
US priority mail shipping is only $12.75 I'd like to get several sold in the US, and can offer free shipping on the front one when it's ready to any US buyer. If I find the market strong enough, I can justify the tooling necessary to produce the front ones in volume. Only one has been made, and works well, but was very time consuming to make without the proper tooling.

On the up side, it offers some protection to that expensive cat! I may be able to make a modified unit for cat-less bikes, though sitting higher in the frame would require an adapter to keep the jack from still lifting on the pipes.

I run without the cat just a crossover, so one a bit higher would be great, and a adapter to fit on those type jacks would be easy to make my self if you weren't interested, keep up the good work

Oih Bob As a suggestion, Why don't you have a chat with Fast Eddy, He might be able to help out with the marketing & distribution side of things and It would add to his other TBird accessories that He specialises in unloading on to us "Gullible Owners"

And I'd love to sell you a set!
I'd like to sell about 15 of these rear units to justify to the wife why it's necessary to buy the equipment necessary to produce the front ones. As I've stated, I've made one front unit, and it works great. It is just too time consuming to produce without the machinery, to be able to sell at a reasonable cost. I think I can make both for about $200 (Less than Triumph's no-longer-available tool to lift only the rear). SO... if I get some folks to step up and get the rear units, the front ones will become available in a few months. I'll give free shipping on the front unit when it is available to anyone in the USA who buys the rear one. Sorry, but overseas shipping is too cost prohibitive to offer that everywhere, and would just drive up everyone's cost. There are a lot of factors involved in overseas shipping. The flat rate box is limited in size (can barely fit one set) and weight (each set would be about 8 pounds). I'd have to check into other possibilities like bigger boxes, but when you get past the flat rate boxes, shipping shoots up.

(Re: VABird) | | | Do I understand this correctly, the rear bracket is for lifting the rear of the bike with a conventional bike jack? The Front bracket when available will lift the front of the bike with the same jack. What about lifting the whole bike with a bike jack? I have PitBull lift and even that thing wouldn't be able to span both brackets without a middle support structure that runs under the sump to both brackets. Seems like a one piece bracket that spans the rear to the front tie-in points would be the ticket for lifting the whole bike and avoiding the sump and exhaust. Nice work on the bracket, the tie-in points were a good idea.

Correct
Daycruiser wrote: The Front bracket when available will lift the front of the bike with the same jack. |

No, you'd also need an automotive floor jack to lift both ends at once. A small inexpensive one would do.

I agree that one piece that spans from front to rear would be cool, but there is not enough clearance under the bike to have that and slide the lift under as well.

Do you pack it at all with plywood to get a level lift or does the right side just rest across the sump or does it rest on the lower header pipes when lifting. Cheers Steve

The load is on JackBeQuick on the left rail of the lift. The right rail just "rests" on the pipes, with no significant load. During development, I tried using only the left rail on the lift with the right rail removed, and with the entire weight on the left edge of the lift, there was a tendency to tilt the lift, creating a very unstable situation. So the solution was to leave the right rail in place, and though it looks as though it is lifting by the pipes, the pipes are merely steadying the lift. There is no contact with the sump at all.
This unit is only for lifting the rear wheel off the ground, a separate unit is being built for the front, and should be ready in a few months.
Hope this answers your concern.
Bob
