So you'd need the internal diameter of the throttle side? I may by a pair just to see if they'd work. I really don't like the chrome parts on the ISOs

. I am not a great fan of the looks of the chrome but they are very comfy grips for long journeys.

Also have a mate with a 3D printer who is starting to have an interest in this problem

Not sure on the 3D printed idea - its still plastic - although you can beef the thing up a bit. I have thought of using a high grade plastic which I keep in stock - but I just want to stay away from the stuff for this part.

| Posted : 11 Feb 2015 - 12:10 Post title : Re: Aluminium Throttle Grip (Re: bschwartz) | | If Matt is behind, and you want something fast, check out Roland Sands or Arlen Ness grips. I have a set that are for Yamaha Star cruisers, and works great (because I went with design over material, mine are plastic at the holder). Both have billet options. I got mine through Pacific Coast Star, only to find out there was an Atlantic Coast Star (would have saved me a few $$ in shipping).
But if Matt's got 'em ready, definitely go with his!
Jamie
PS - in the meantime, I've commented several times that the culprit for our plastic grips is the switch housing. Where the cable goes into the guide, there is a sharp edge that nicks up the plastic holder on the grip. File/sand that edge down and even plastic will go a long way.

It's on my list of things to do when I get the bike ready in spring. But ideally I'd love to get a nice metal sleeve for the grip. Hopefully Matt decided to make a production run of these but if not at least I know there's other after market options out there.

Its not a problem to make these out of ali - and mine is still like new. But I still couldn't get an answer on the size to fit a grip. I had to spend a good couple of hours stripping an ISO grip to get the rubber bit off. I just havn't had time to search for grips to fit.
