OK so I'm sick of hearing you blokes talk about tyres for longer than it takes a tyre to actually wear out or power commanders for longer than it takes to load every possible tune to the bike so I thought I would submit a little quick tip for an instant fork seal fix. I can't take the credit for this one. It came from a mate of mine Scott who some of you would have met in Kyogle riding the M109.

This is was Scott had to say:

While I was in broken hill I noticed oil coming from right front fork seal ...... All I could think of was oil flicking around hitting the rim and then Finally coming to a corner somewhere outback then have front end slide out on me .ended up wrapping a chux around the fork hoping to soak it up incase it pissed out.

There was a suzuki shop dead centre in broken hill so I asked for a seal cleaner .... Never heard of them he says ... Wtf ! So one of the guys said just get $5 note and slide it up into the seal using a figure 8 motion .... Worked a treat!

You can use anything flimsy, camera film is ideal apparantly.

I used a $20 note.

So if you start leaking try this first . Apparantly small bits of shit get up there and doesn't take much .
Saved me $400!

So there you go - its a quick easy fix that cleans the grime out and prevents the need to replace the fork seal. Even if it gets you home its worth storing somewhere in your head in between how many miles you get out of a tyre and what tune you will load to your bike next

Cheers,
Dan

Would you have to remove the bird chrome cover first though? That is a pain all on it's own.

BTW Dan, how are your tyres wearing and are you going to fit a PC?

Experience is something you get just after you needed it
