I carry a small stick. I just dip it in the tank and if it comes out half wet, I know I have half a tank left

G'day Smitty,

That sounds like an interesting way to check the fuel level . . . .

Oops, sorry mate, that was a 'small stick' wasn't it.

Cheers Alex . .

...the reason for the question was that my guys doing my 24000 mile service called me frantically saying that the fuel gauge was not working, and, that Triumph sending units are notorious for going out of whack....and me, upon hearing this over the phone was trying to picture a " fuel gauge" that was separate and distinct from the mode gauge at your right thumb....ergo, the dumbass question.....so....I probably deserve the smartass answer.....

If they say that the "Fuel Gauge Sender Unit is Notorious for going out of wack" give them a "Wack fair between the ears" and tell em to fix the fucker and if they are notorious for it then do it under warranty.

I bet they find that it's is ok all of a sudden.

...heh heh...it was more of a whack at ALL Triumph sending units.......(They're jealous that I'm riding this torque beast)...they did a great job, by the way....this sumbitch is stronger, and more crisp with the roll-on...
