Not a bird but a nasty thing to happen, some of the roads in south wales are just like that, and yes some of the sports bike riders ride like that.

I was wondering what country this was but no matter this is a good example of target fixation. Both riders had more room. I'm not bashing these guys because you never know whats going to happen unless you're in that position.

Looks and sounds a bit like Australia, with the "Fark" "Fark" "Fark" and a couple of "you right mate" thrown in there.
And we see that type of riding a lot over here. Guys getting their ambition confused with their ability and running wide on corner exit.

The numpty on the red bike had no lean angle through the corner and then at the last second tried to turn the bars to avoid the impact.
Unfortunately while our system teaches newbies how to pass a licence test instead of how to ride a bike, this will continue to happen.

I doubt it's the U.S. since the videoing driver is driving on the leftside lane (unless he was doing it as a stunt, then deserves the hit he took...but I don't get the impression it's a stunt by the video). Looks like the other rider took his turn waayy too wide.

Smitty is right. I just looked up the original web hosting and it says Aus. The sports bike went wide.

Yeah, the sportbike went wide. You can see it if you go frame by frame when i first comes into view and he's on the other side then crosses into the harley's lane. (or whatever that bike is) Plus if the other guy was at fault i think thier reactions would have been opposite.
In any case that video is one of my worse fears in the twisties and watching it makes me sick to my stomach.

Me too. I do tend to go on the slow side if I cant see what's coming. At least I have the choice to leap to freedom. More fun can be had when the road ahead is in full view.

I remember being first on the seen at a similar accident years ago in the bush when riding dirt bikes. My mate was covered in blood and was saying his groin was hurting. I took a look at it for him as mates do. What do you know? His ball sack was torn open and one nut was missing - OUCH!! Needless to say what his nick name was from that point on

Yep. I think the biggest reason for twisties mishaps are blind corners. I always treat them with the respect they deserve, which means never take a blind corner faster than you know you can react if it's sharper than you expect. I learned that years ago when i hit a blind curve at a speed that turned out to be faster than was possible once i saw it became sharper than i expected. I went a bit into the oncoming lane but was lucky no one was in it. that scared me enough that I never did that again since and it's always on my mind when in the twisties.

Dan....too much info......

Oi Lee
I reckon there is a fair chance that looks a lot like it might be Mt Cootha the width of the road, the tall trees, & unbroken white line. What do you think

Hi Alex
Matt said He checked on the origin of the video and it was Australian, and Yes I reckon that's more like it rather than Mt Cootha, Have only ridden it once and as soon as I saw the Video I thought Ummmmmmmm, I reckon I have ridden that road.
