Carry on. Dave!!!

As a pre teen on a mini bike I once caught one of those wires they use to tie small trees to the ground so they stand up straight till they are mature enough. Caught it right across my chest and it took me down in 1/10 the blink of an eye. Talk about pain. One thing thats always scared me is the thought of kids tying a wire across the street. Likely never to happen to you except on a quiet side street, but what a nightmare thought.
On a somewhat related note, today i was riding along when i saw a parked car with it's wheels turned outwards and being always aware i investigated as i approached and slowed way down. Sure enough some jackass pulled a U turn from the curb right in front of me. Never even looked to see if anyone was coming. How you neglect to look in that sort of move is beyond me unless he was raging drunk or stoned. He looked shocked to see me brake hard and stop 5 feet from his door as he pulled in front of me. I think he was even more shocked when i yelled at the top of my lungs "you fucking asshole, what the hell is wrong with you". I hate people like that with a burning passion. You just can't stay safe on a bike today unless you are uber aware every moment.

It takes me less than a minute to get out of my town into the countryside, but I will have more near misses in that minute than the next few hours riding. Vans, cars, buses, cycles and fkn kids. I need some new swear words, the ones I have are not sinking in.
The wire across the road thing, nightmare. Of all the hazards you could meet on the road, and you get attacked from above.

And then there are the TWATS who continue to use their mobiles. Forget a fine and points on license, there should be a new penalty. Having the phone shoved up their arse
Thinking of having camera permanently fitted, taking photos of miscreants and posting on a web page. Try to embarrass the fkrs.
