...Another newbie question....I love this 1600...haven't ridden a 1700,is there any way to convey what I'm missing performance-wise?If I go To my dealer and ride a 17, am I gonna be sorely in this 1600?.....Agreed that it's a dumb question....

I just had the BB kit and the difference is noticeable but not spectacular. The 1600 strains a bit more to make its power. You should test drive a Rocket, then get on a 1700 and decide whether it's worth it.

I liken the 1700 to be just a 1600 "with mongrel". If you can afford it make the change.

Yeah I gotta agree, not much difference between the two and if you install the 1700 cams only I reckon you get 99 percent of the gains with 50 percent of the cost if you do it as part of the 20Km (12K mile) service.
