Hehe.... a fly screen, and that's all it could ever block, damned thing doesn't even go above the controls. And more importantly, it was stock.
Besides why do you need a screen? I figure you'd get enough wind block from the headlight.

Which by the looks of things is the same size as your headlight.
With my slim figure , a flyscreen is more of a full fairing to me. That tiny flyscreen doesn't get a look in on that morini with you behind it.
But I guess it would look 'unfinished' without it.

I do like having it on for the bugs and occasional rainstorms.

Yes to a screen: 1. Bugs 2. Wind pressure 3. Rain 4. flying mud turtles & other objects
No to a screen: 1. Buffeting at higher speeds 2. Aesthetics 3. Philosophical
Hell no : 1. Thatchian-speak for "grow a pair, boys" (well, unless it's a flyscreen that came with the bike )
Helmet choices seem intertwined with the screen decision. Personally, since I went to a Shoei Neotec modular, wind buffeting with the mid screen is pretty much a non-issue (the top of the mid-screen sits at about chin level for me). When I wore a HJC IS-33 3/4 with face shield, buffeting was brutal above 65 mph.
I don't know what types of speed limits most of you are dealing with, but in Texas they've recently gone up to 75 mph (and as high as 85mph in some stretches). Even though you're not REQUIRED to go that fast, we all know that on a bike, it's not fun having cars, pickups and 18-wheeler blowing past you. So you really do have to be able to at least HANG with moving traffic. Without a screen at those speeds, just holding on (as noted by others) is pretty exhausting. So, I will likely keep the screen on (with full-face helmet), if I know I'll be on a lengthy highway ride at speeds above 70 mph. Around my little Houston suburb, half-helmet and goggles will do, and if the screen is off, so be it.
As always, to each his own. Which is why there are such things as accessories, I suppose.
On another note, this HD guy kept walking past our bikes yesterday until he finally....wait! Is it legal to hijack my own thread? Maybe I better start a new one.....

I live 2 clicks off the Autobahn. I doubt I've ever ridden on it under 100 mph, at least for part of the way. I doubt my average is under 90, and honestly, good natured ribbing aside, I don't get remotely tired from hanging on. It does start to get tiring above that, but for me that's more mental and constant steering adjustments not the wind on me. I think the first time I met Birdy I was running late and did the whole 2.5 hours at 100 and above. (ok, probably a half hour of that was off the autobahn so that would've been slower). I arrived a bit frazzled from being late (and lost) but other than some rather severe dehydration I was none the worse for wear. I've never understood the fatigue issue. Perhaps it has to do with my riding position which is leaned forward as opposed to the stock upright position.

Hate Autobahn riding but when I have too, then holding on at a maintaining ton up ne'er been a problem. It might be as you've said Thatch, riding position. I lean forward, in fact I tend to be sat on the rear edge of the seat. Flyscreen test this weekend. 70mph Visor Up'n'comfortable, 75mph eyes start watering, above visor down.

I stumbled onto this picture today and thought of this thread.....
Here is a picture of me on my bike (before the paint job) and you can see how I fit (or don't fit as the case may be) on the bike.
My setup creates a fairly different riding position than most folks have and that coupled with my size may be why I don't experience any fatigue on a screen free bike.
Oh and I'm with you on the Autobahn riding.... but when you need to get from here to there in a reasonable amount of time they sure are nice to have.

My personal choice is not to have a screen after my last bike . My daughter said I looked like a grandad with it on. It also caused no end of trouble trying to fix the buffetting which I finaly cured by making my own lowers . It only worked when I made huge lowers to stop the wind coming under the screen smashing my head in lol.
Big lowers worked for me but you cant help thinking fck this ill just use the car rather than look like a twat.

I would think it should be about the same size as the regular flyscreen. I will say, when there's a good wind blowing, the fly screen has some limitations. But, at this point I would rather suffer occasionally with the fly screen than rattle my brains every time I hit the freeway with the roadster screen.
