I'm gonna have to stop calling it the Capt America .... it sounds a bit ... well ya know. I'd be thinking more along the lines of Little Miss America cos she's skinny at the waist and has an ample rear end and well ... pretty ... yep real pretty. Pulls like a train too

I've put another couple of hundred klicks on her now and I'm begining to see how the bike interacts with its surroundings. Is the motor a bit clicky? Did seem to have a bit of top end clattering going on ... put that down to my being totally unfamiliar with the Triumph parallel twin set up.

What will I put on this bike. Well it has the majority of the shiny, bling farkles so I need to concentrate of the rider aids. Lights and power outlets. I don't fancy the bar and aux/spots and from what I've read here it's a faff to do. Think I'll go Clearwater LED possibly Denali or PIAA. Can they be mounted below the lower yoke? I think there's enough clearance. If not off the fork uppers or crash bars. I'm going to use my chrome Powerlets power bar for the RAM mount and power outlet for the GPS. Will need to put something lower down at the side of the bike for a battery tender hook up ... anyone done that? Course you have. I'll look it up.

For the UK owners that tax (robbery) disc (institutionalised theft) thing is a pain. I got one of those Oberon tubey type units and fitted it to the inside of the sissybar/rack. Nicely out of the way.

I'm possibly going to put R&G fork protectors/sliders through the front axle ... that's the Philistine in me.

One day I intend to strip this puppy and turn it into a Cafe racer ... not yet but one day. It'll then be adorned in my favourite material ... Titanium

Off to do some reading now.

Glad you are enjoying your new ride Swagger.

Yes there is a bit of top end chatter to these bikes. I found it a bit disconcerting for the first year I had my bike as I never ran into another bird owner in that time, so nothing to compare the sound to. I've since run with many and they all have a bit of a rattle typically more so at start up (unless you're Birdy and then it's just all the time... or was, his is sorted now)

Thanks for that Thor ... didn't think it was just my imagination. I'll now be able to filter that out of what I need to be listening for and what not. Certainly a smooth action to the bike. Never had belt drive before .... liking that. I'll be a bit precious about her for a while and won't intentionally take her out in the rain .... hate the idea of cleaning all that chrome. I have other machines for the rainy days.

I ride just about every day of the year come rain or shine. Clock up something like 20,000 miles per year. The T/bird will not see much of that action as I want her for the pure pleasure of relaxed weekend riding.

My missus has just presented me with a couple of resin domed Capt America shield decals (50mm dia).... they're chrome and metallic colours ... so I guess that the Capt America name will continue afterall Apparently they will be discreetly applied to the sissy bar connection plates.

Might be better under the sump.

Glad your liking the Bird. It gets better the more you ride it. I still love jumping on mine after two years of owning it.

Swags,
I come home from work and take the Bird for a spin nearly every afternoon. Even half an hour puts the mind back in the calm zone .
Beats yoga
Ride it often !

LOL ... She's avin' a laarf ... what i didn't say was discreet means on the INSIDE of the sissy bar connection plates

Dent ... just looked that up in the threads. I'm s'possed to be French France during May but if I can get back I'd give it a shot. Cumbria in May .... that'll be raining then .....and cold. Damp and cold. Not to mention wet. At least it ain't Denton near Manchester ... that'd be bad .... and wet.

I'll see what can be done ...
