| | Posted : 18 Apr 2012 - 12:04 Post title : Well i never ! | | | Ive just come back from dealers after having a new avon rear storm fitted, while fitting it I allways venture into the workshop & mention brake pads & yeah sure enuff she needed new uns. we then got onto subject of wheel bearings & that some owners changing from needle to roller. yours has got roller ones in said the mechanic, a bit of a surprise for me lastly can you remember me mentioning the odd tear on side of belt ? well seems there was room for slight adjustment but belt still wants to mainly run on right hand side, just so happens anther t-bird was in showroom (slower blue/white model) 6500 miles on clock mine has 12800 so we compared width, almost exactly the same mine being 1/2 a mm narrower

The wheels do have roller bearings in - all of them do.

(Re: mat1600) | | | Mat is correct as is the mechanic you spoke with.ALL MC WHEELS use roller or ball bearings in them.It's the cush drive hub that uses the needle bearing on the outer side,the side the belts' drive cog is mounted on,but also uses a roller or ball bearing on the inner or opposite side of that drive hub.It's the outer side,the side where the belt's drive cog is mounted on that Mat changed from the needle bearing to the triple ball bearing set up.
The mechanic simply misunderstood your question.Dave!!!
