Greetings from Downunder. I have a high pitched whistle or scream ,if you like, coming from under the tank. Both vacuum lines are on but the noise is still there at idle. Secondly , the more I read the more I am fearful as to the reliablility of this model (2010 1600). Only two service dealers In Perth, Western Australia and limited access to any info. Somebody please reassure me that I have done the right thing! Sold the Harley and bought the Tbird.

You're not a lone my friend in your opinion. If your vacuum lines are, infact on,check the nuts holding the throttle bodies on.If they're loose, that too can give ya the whistle or noise you're hearing.I'm not sayin that's your problem,I sayin to check em as a possible cause for the problem. l Dave!!!

I have a 2010 1600 and I have had very few problems and none that have been serious. I am very pleased with mine.
I have only done 3564 miles but that has been a mixture of wet and dry roads.

My storm just started the whistling noise. Very odd. No running issues either. It is very high pitch, not like a vacuum
line

Mine is the 2010 1600. Had it since new. Ran it at under 3000rpm for the first 1000 miles , its never missed a beat in 17000 miles. No whistling noises.

Is it a constant whistle or intermttent whistle ?

Thanks Hog???????????Y. This noise I have developed is a high pitched sound. I only pick it up at idle ( HogSlayers Block it out on a run). It appears to be above the engine and below the tank. I would have thought these bikes had a map sensor or whatever. I had a scenario where the bike ran rough and the engine light was on. I discovered that one of these vacuum lines had popped off. the bike did stall and backfire once in the past. I considered that the the line might have been blown off.
The bike generally performs well. Would like a bit more power though.
Are the BB kits a successful installation ?
P.S. 6' 2" and long arms. I nned a more comfortable seat. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

If its a high pitched whine, I'd think possibly fuel pump. Mines been making that whine since 8k miles. Slightly irritating but get used to it. Pointed it out to the dealer so if any future failure I'll expect it to be rectified.

The fuel pump could be very well what you're hearing since it is located in the tank.I never gave that a thought. But I don't think ya should hear it either, especially at speed.Dave!!!

I had the same thing, finally figured out that it is the exact same whine that occurs when turning the key on and the fuel pump comes on, pressurizing the system. I only hear it at idle when the bike is running.

G'day Pete, Not sure on the whistling, it's not Waltzing Matilda is it?

Re the seat, I'm the same height and after modding my original seat a couple of times I bought the dual longhaul with the backrest, big improvement. On long trips the highway pegs are worth the investment also.

You could try the Corbin from the US, but it's a long way to send it back if it's not right.
