probably an easy question...

Does anyone know how this fits in to the bars ? and how to remove it and re-install it on another set ?

Thanks

PS

... anyone else installed the official Triumph auxilliary power point, .. how the f*@+ do you remove the srews ( to discard !)
you can't get anything behind to see what heads they are or to hold against !!!

All you need to do is unbolt the 2 bolts holding the ignition switch in place. I think 8mm socket and spanner are needed.

The plug to connect the auxiliary socket to is the one isn't a bit of blue tape over it behind the right hand side cover, but it is awkward to route out if it's position, to allow it to be connected onto the auxiliary socket connector.

Thanks Stripy,
The ignition switch query is when you install the auxilliary you are supposed to undo the 2 screws with a (10mm) socket holding the ignition switch first, but they just turn and turn because the domed nuts are on the face side and some unknown inaccesible screw head is on the inside. I wanted to know if someone else has manged to fit this accessory according to the fitting instructions.

I'm also looking for information on the bit poking out of the bars (shown here) which the bar end weights screw into.

Just installed my 2nd Powerlet socket, piece of cake!! (errr, the 2nd time around). I agree, the removal of the 2 acorn nuts appears challenging, until you realise it's an Allen socket at the rear, especially as the threads are gunged up with Triumph's loctite . A little dental-type inspection mirror helps to confirm this.

Two handy hints:

1) Location & connection of the blue-taped connector is a minor struggle. Cut the tape with a modelling knife and pull it through, towards the socket and connect it before you fix it in position.

2) Leave the Allen (hex-head) bolts in situ - it's a bugger getting them back in if you remove them - & you don't need to.

I was going to say "wish I could help you" then realised you're only about 15 miles away! It took me 20 minutes to fit mine yesterday (as opposed to the 2 to 3 hours, two years ago). Give me a shout if you want any help, it'll be a pleasure; drinking someone else's beer ;-)
