by the way....I just looked through the parts manual on BikeBandit to see how much those rubber washers are that go between the front indicators and the fork clamps...they're 98 cents just so you know. But then I decided to check out the rear fender section and a new rear fender is $683!! What's worse is that stupid plastic bracket that I took off of my bike is $44 bucks! If anyone needs andextra let me know...for you, Mistah, good price!

I got my Tbars and Triumph Black Teardrop Mirrors installed today. I've very happy with it. I drove over an hour to the dealership and it was in the 30s this morning. I'm an idiot and didn't dress warm enough. I had to stop half way just so that I could regain feeling in my fingertips then fight the wind and cold for the rest of the trip. It took 30 minutes in the store and 3 cups of coffee to warm me up...hhaah...it was worth it, though. Thankfully it warmed up a little by the time I was ready to ride home, but it still sucked. I have black ISO grips coming in the mail tomorrow and Rocket III tank badges coming later this week. Once I get everything installed the bird will be done and were I want it to be. At that point I'll post some pics of the finished product. My homemade mods were a big hit at the shop today, too, as well as the Phantom Blue Haze paint. A couple of the guys said they had never seen one in person. When the service guy came out to get the odometer reading and other info he went to look at the license plate and had the funniest look on his face....I said "yea, I've been doing some work of my own. The plate is over here."

Still no pics yet because I started something new. The fact that those BC Hog Slayers in black never matched the bike started annoying me and I noticed that that paint was starting to scratch off anyway so I pulled the Slayers off and am getting ready to paint them with VHT header paint in flat black with satin clear coat over the top. I did a test run last night and it almost perfectly matches the powder coating on the rest of the bike. I think it's gonna look much better that way. I also got my black ISO grips installed and that was a PAIN IN THE ASS. The clutch side was no issue whatsoever, but that throttle housing was horrible. I had to cut all of the ribs off then sand it over and over and over to try to get the grip to fit over the throttle. I ended up accidentally cutting a small hole in one part of the housing then realize that I needed to cut off that round part that the old grip butted up next to so I had to do even more work. I finally got it, though, and the thicker grips look much better with the thicker TT bars. She's almost done (or so I keep saying). After the exhaust work all I have left is those Rocket tank badges if they ever get here.

Oh, and I've been riding the bike daily and getting tons of compliments lately....even from people who have seen it before so I must be doing something right!

The paint job on the Hog Slayers looks awesome. They actually match the bike now. I got my Rocket III tank badges and pulled off the old ones tonight, but I haven't cleaned the left over adhesive off of the tank yet. I'll do that tomorrow. I'm seriously considering going with no badges now because it looks pretty clean without them. We'll see what I decide when I get them cleaned up. It's 4 am and I'm having trouble sleeping so I've been playing around on here and doing some shopping. I just ordered some Hagon Shocks with black springs 1 inch lower than stock from Fast Eddy. I thought I was done with the bird, but I just keep finding more shit to add/take away.

Here are some pics I took today of the bike in it's current state (which is almost done...or so I keep saying). The updates include TT Bars, Triumph Black Teardrop Mirrors, Kury Black ISO Grips with Chrome end caps, painted Hog Slayers to match the rest of the bike better, and tank badge removal. I took the badges off planning to put on the Rocket III badges, but liked the way it looked sterile so I'm leaving it clean for a while to see how I like it. The next update will come when I get my new Hagon 2810 shocks with black springs from Fast Eddy.....that should finish it up (or so I keep saying).

looking good mate. The license plate removal looks really clean.

Powder coat the calipers for some eye catching bang. In stead of leaving the tank sterile get Triumph painted on it, maybe ghosted to make it subtle. Gotta let people know on the street its a Triumph.

Thanks. I'm pretty proud of my license plate relocation. It turned out great. I'm really excited about the new paint on the Hog Slayers, too. It just never quite looked right since they were an off color flat black. Everything flows much better now. As for tank badges, I'll probably put those Rocket II badges on shortly. I think they look better than the original badges. I'd like to paint the calipers, but I'm afraid it would be too much work right now. I'm all about tearing my Enfield apart, but I'm still a bit leery of digging too deep on the Bird. Drilling that fender took a lot out of me.
I just ordered the Hagon front springs from Eddy. I'm anxious to see how the 1" drop in the back shocks works out.

Fab,
I took your advice (sort of) and painted part of the calipers tonight. Originally I was planning to paint just the "Triumph" but decided that would be too big of an ass pain so I just taped everything off and painted the face of the part that says "Triumph". I also added the Rocket III badges, but it's midnight so I'm done for now. We'll see how it all turned out tomorrow. Perhaps there will be more pics to follow....I'm really excited about getting my new shocks in black and dropping the ass end 1 inch.
