Nipped into a dealers yesterday to get a trade in price for the bike. Got 15,000 on the clock. According to the price guide book (glasses.). The annual mileage they work on is 2,500 miles a year Bit low me thinks

You get the same old story - ''oooo - high milage sir, thats going to knock it''. But if your looking at a used bike it's '' yes it is high milage - but they can do it ok - it will go forever sir''

Its all bollocks.

You can pick up a low milage bike thats had the shit kicked out of it - but it polished up well.

Ain't that the truth.Ya buy a brandy spankin new machine from these people, drive it for a year, put on 10,000 miles, go back to trade it in on a bigger machine the following year, and they offer you pennies on the dollar stating that it's a pink elephant because it's got all this high mileage on it,bla, bla, bla, which is bull shit. Then you concede, cause ya really want this new machine, and take their generous [lol] trade in offer towards the new one.

The next fish,I mean customer, lol, goes into that same stealership lookin to buy a machine and the salesman immediately shows em your old one and brags about the LOW mileage it's got and what great shape it's in,etc.,etc.,then tries to sell it to that person for almost the same price you originally paid for it when you bought it brand new.I hate these STEALERSHIPS and that's the main reason why.

And then we have warantee/maintenance work.Ya bring it back to em for warantee work or maintenance and they look at ya like ya got two heads and tell ya that you did somethin wrong,so it's all your fault and you gotta pay their labor rate of X amount of dollars per hour plus parts, which are marked up BIG TIME.GRRRR!! All they want is your money. And this applies to the automotive industry as well.ENOUGH!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Dave!!!

I'll give ya cheeze and whine.lol Were my comments that far off??? By the time I'm finished with this machine, there won't be a stealer around who will want it,even if ya pay em to take it.lol And that's because,it'll have 100,000 or better on the clock, that is,if these shit tires I've been using don't bankrupt me first. Dave!!!

I'm well over 10,000 on my Avons now and they still look pretty good. I almost hate to do it but will probably try the Commanders when these finally wear down. I'm guessing I have another 4,000 to 5,000 miles left from the looks of the tread. Of course I don't ride on roads maintained by the no budget Massachusetts highway departments either. I seem to remember a pothole somewhere down here, but I can't remember where?

(I have to go back to the GOOD avatar. I miss her!)
