Just picked up a Corbin Dual Tour seat for my TBird. I noticed the plastic venting under the stock Triumph seat for the air filter. Is it ok that the Corbin doesn't have it? Will it effect anything?
Thanks, John

All I can tell you is I rode all day yesterday with the Corbin and the bike ran great. I calculated 44.9 mpg even with a serious head wind most of the way.
Based on that admittedly small sample size, I'd say the bike runs fine with the Corbin.
Hopefully, someone who actually knows what they are talking about will be along to answer!

Along with it not fitting with the Triumph backrest I called them and asked them two questions. 1. Why is the Corbin Dual Tour seat shorter (2-3") then the factory seat? 2. Will it work ok even though it doesn't have the air chamber under it for the air cleaner?
The answer to both questions was. I don't know what your talking about. The seat should work just fine.
Corbin might make a nice seat (sometimes) but their custom service is the worst of any company I have ever dealt with. When I returned my non fitting seat it took them a month to return my money. And that wasn't because I was waiting for a charge credit to show up. I paid them by check.
They could make a seat of gold and I would never buy it. They will never see any of my money again and I tell as many people as I can to stay away from Corbin. I can have a custom seat made on my base pan for the same price and know I will get something that actually fits and works on the bird.
Bottom Line---Corbin SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!!!!!!!

(Re: ezrider3) | | | I guess I've been really fortunate in that I've bought three seats from Corbin in addition to some used ones and I've never had any issues. I ordered the pillion seat to go with the solo I bought from atadude and they called me the next day to let me know the pillion doesn't work with the stock seat. Since they didn't see where I had ordered the main seat they thought I was trying to match with the oem. I thought that was good as they were trying to save me some grief.
The seats have always been quality and way better than stock.
I'm sorry to hear you've had such a tough time with them!

It fits great, looks good, is comfortable and I certainly haven't seen any breathing issues with it. Sounds to me like someone is trying to invent a problem.

While I've never had a customer service problem with them, I only deal with Vinny in Daytona, I don't doubt what EZ said. Call and ask for Vinny. Maybe you'll get treated better, which isn't saying a lot for their customer service either, but might be a way around it. I was in no way doubting anyone. I just think the breathing bit is a non-issue that seems to keep popping up, even though no one says they have experienced it.
And by the way, I've had MUCH, MUCH worse issues with Mustang! When I had a backrest stolen and called them a vice president told me "We sell seats, not parts" and slammed the phone down in my ear. They wanted me to buy a new $750 seat instead of selling a backrest. Then when questioned by a bike magazine editor I told the story to, they said I was lying and of course they would sell just a backrest. That's MY never buy from again seat company.

I've never delt with Corbin before. I placed my order online and James sent me a email and later called me about my order. Seat looks, feels and fits great!
