Went to the annual brit bike rally today here in so cal and i got off my bike and immediately a HD guy comes over and asks about it. I'm talking to him when who should appear standing right next to my bike, but an owner of the exact same bird as mine in blue/white stripe.....our ol' buddy Jay Leno. So i pointed at my bike and told him i saw his video and that he has the same bike. He said yeah and i asked him do you ride it at all? (after all, he has about what....probably 300 bikes?) He said sure i do. Then he remarked on my T bars and i proceeded to tell him what else i'd done. His parting words were "hell of a motor isn't it?" This is a guy who owns more bikes than several dealers and has old triumphs like bonnies and the original Tbird, new ones including a R3. Tons of bikes, so many that the "jay's garage" as it's called in a new TV show and on his i think now defunkt website is actually a huge warehouse. So for a guy who's got a lifetime of bikes and cars behind him and a warehouse full of vehicles to say that about the Tbird motor i think is praise of the highest degree.

Well, i see him around town now and then because he's always showing up at biker hangs and driving around in cars that stand out like a sore thumb like his stanley steamer. But i haven't talked to him till today. He's a real regular guy that just wants to be one of the guys and damn the fame thing. People love that about him. I loved his Jay's garage website but it seems to have been taken down, maybe because of the new jays garage cable show.

Man, if i had his money....

I wish i had. Unfortunately i totally forgot sunday was the rally and i was just out for a ride. So i didn't have a camera with me. (and i don't have a cell) I saw a lot of triumphs on the road and thats when it hit me the rally was that day so i went. Normally i would have had a camera. Then again i wouldn't have wanted to bother him because other people were having shots taken of them with Jay and he puts up with it but you could tell he just wanted to walk around and look at bikes. Anyways, i'm not sure what he rode in that day. I heard someone ask him but couldn't hear the answer. May have been his R3 because i did see one there and i know he has one.

Jay rode his Brough Superior to the hansen dam rally. She was a beauty. The show, the ride and the fellowship was awesome as always. My favorite of the year every year.
