made the decision today to get rid of my 2010 thunderbird.. tossing up over getting a Victory, Valkyrie or a trophy..The Val was just ugly, the Victories didn't do much for me and the Trophy was just a bit high in the seat department.. They happened to haee a LT sitting on the floor and that appealed to us, gotta keep the women happy too...So after 5 years on I'm now the owner of another one..Didnt have a problem with the other, just on 70.000 ks so that was the final decider

Awesome Greg, can't wait to see it.
A big decision, but really after owning a Bird, there isn't a lot out there that's comparable.
So a newer Bird makes real sense and the LT should fit the bill for all the two up riding you and Pam do. Congrats to you both

Good stuff Greg, glad you stuck with the Birds.

I have just clicked over 70k as well, waiting to see if Triumph are going to make the 1700 standard throughout the range.

that's the main decider buying that model with all the touring we do, the bags are there and away we go...The front and rear fenders are a lot longer so that should keep out a lot of crap..And Irish, its the red and black one, not quite as appealing as that SILVER though...I didn't mark myself down for Brissie because didn't know what I was doing because of this, but will think about it over the next few weeks....Even if we just come up for the run with you lot from nsw

Good choice, Greg, if I were to upgrade, that would be my choice also, being vertically challenged the 'Bird fits me perfectly.
Happy & safe riding to you & Pam.
Hope to see you both at Jindabyne in March.

Hey Greg, good choice.

We upgraded our 2011 T-Bird to the LT mainly for comfort reasons and we have now done 20,000kms on our LT and have no regrets.

I did add the Triumph wide back rest making it even more comfotable for my wife.
