that is definitely the sound i'm going for. I think the TOR shorty, TOR map, cat bypass, with K&N filter would set me up just perfectly.
my dealer did say he would do the cat eliminator if I provided the pipes, but because it seems like a fairly easy swap I may just do it myself.
He did mention BC has a better air filter eliminator kit that results in a 12.5hp increase for $399.00.
something else to consider.

sound is really what i'm going after. the bike is already a huge improvement over my previous cruiser.

Welcome! I'm in Patchogue, LI myself. I really like what you did with the tail-lights. The only further changes you will want to make for safety's sake is increased ground clearance on the front end with the Thunderbike fork caps Link . The bike handles so well, you have to remind yourself you're on a cruiser, and these will give you the margin of safety you will probably want. Raising the front end is all you need to do since the pegs are on the forward part of the chassis. My second favorite mod is my Hagon rear shocks. The most extensive and reputable source for most aftermarket things will be Fasteddysports.com Eddy is a member of the forum and a Thunderbird owner. He has tested everything himself and is available for consult if you have any questions of what works for any of your needs. Enjoy! |

Edbob,
how difficult is it to install the fork caps kit? Any special tools required? is there a vid on the installation, or is this a strictly dealer/pro install?

Link Link for the install. If you have the tools first and are set up properly, it really will take about an hour. Progressive fork springs from Fast Eddy will help even more with the handling. You'll find those on his website. Difficulty for fork cap removal and replacement is about a 4 out of 10 (1 being an oil change, 10 being valve adjustment).
