scary to think about how many other things have been "overlooked" or not done correctly at triumph.

While they didn't get fined because they got their recall done in due order, Harley had a rather high profile recall as well. Just a small matter of the front brakes locking up unexpectedly. Not that it would cause a problem for the rider But yes, this isn't a good look for Triumph but just about every manufacturer has a recall at one time or another. Doesn't excuse the behavior but it does happen.

We had two recalls (that I know of), one for stock passenger seat bracket and another for front fender bolts. Someone here posted pics of loose fender bolts shredding his front tire, and the recall was almost immediate. Still don't know what prompted the seat bracket recall, but I got the impression that Triumph was acting with an excess of caution on both counts. Would be interesting to know if anyone was actually injured by any of this, or it's just gov't throwing weight around.

It must have been a recall on one of the other Triumph bikes not the TBird.

No, he's correct. Fender bolts and pillion seat brackets.

triumph have a pretty dismal record worldwide when it comes to admitting to any faults with their product.....

I had a 6 month battle with them regarding starting problems with the first injected bonnevilles. They fixed it with an ecu update, but would not admit they had a problem....

It's over 2012-2013 Street Triples Mat, nothing I can find about our Thunderbirds.
What was our third recall? Saddlebag bolts?

Ive already had 2 recalls on my 3 month old street glide . one for saddlebag pins that can let the bag fall off and another for clutch engagement issue. never had any recalls with my bird but it did have a tapping valve when i traded it.

currently on a slow Harley but will have another Triumph eventually

Shite. That was dough for Triumph to do the R&D on a new lighter 550lb machine at 1100 to 1200cc to compete with the Indian Scout and others in that class. They have too many bikes in that low range of 850cc. If Triumph can make an English version of the Scout I would be all over it.

1100cc liquid cooled "street tracker" being released in the next few weeks. the next generation Bonneville family, according to the rumour mill.
Though I would bet they will wait until Milan bike show in November.
We have the Sydney bike show at the end of november too, would be great to see it then maybe..
one thing for certain is it is coming

Satch - Saw a new Scout up close for the first time last weekend. Love the styling but the critics got it right when they called it small. I mean I am vertically challenged myself but that new Scout is downright dinky - and looks like a toy. I think my old Bandit weighed more! Could be a great bike for someone just getting started or female riders. I had doubts about the criticism when I first heard it but seeing one kinda killed my desire to have one. Just sayin.

Same here Dog. Sat on one this past weekend and was stunned by the weight - or lack of weight. It is only 25" off the ground so it feels real toy-like. And it has a dinky 3.3 gal tank which would be a deal breaker for me anyways

I checked out the new Tracker and what a dissapointnent from the photos. It is just a more modern Bonnie with a few more horses. And the only way you are riding that scoot is if you are 5'5" or shorter.

Rear hub/bearing wasn't treated as a recall, was more like a warranty fix. Same with the failed speedometers that were replaced early on. I've only received the two recall notices, seat bracket and front fender bolts.
