Don't the 1600's pretty consistently run in the 12's? I would expect low 10's to high 9's.

Oh god no ! I could almost keep up with mine when it was a stock 1600 with my tweaked speedmaster. More like 14's i'd wager. As a well tweaked 1700 with the right tune is worlds quicker probably get into the low 13's to mid 12's. All just guess work based on what bikes i've owned and what i know they do. But when mine was a stock 1600 it was ridiculous for a engine that size. Primed and ready for big increases pretty easily because they are so detuned, but stock they're dogs.

I doubt you,ll be able to get all that torque to the ground without a slick so im guessing high 11s to low 12s

Dont worry Dave rear to 33lbs ,nice big burn out before it goes up to the mark, should have some grip and a nice tyre patch on the
surface , or i might have to get a Shiko on it

I'll stop by the hardware store and get some extra rope and some duct tape

By the way, I just found the (2010) Cycle World results of 13.24 for a quarter mile.

I see all the quotes from the bike mags, but i reckon if all the riders here did a time they would all be different ,and if u stuck a very good
drag racer it would be different again, i reckon a good rider would be worth at least a second down the quarter.

That surprises me because as a 1600 mine was pathetic. No way i could imagine it in the high 13's even. But if thats true than mine as it is today will surely be in the low to mid 12's easy because theres no comparison. Probably do 12 flat if it's true that stock 1600 is 13.24. The difference between with the 1700 kit exhaust mods and tune feels like there should be at least a 500-700cc difference from mine as a stock 1600. I had a couple 750 triple 2 strokes back in the day that didn't seem to accelerate any faster than my bird does, and the kawi recorded a 12.1 ET. The 1700 modded/tuned bird has balls up to 100 MPH too where the kawi all but died after 70.

I never got a test ride when i bought my Tbird so i really wasn't sure what to expect. But i remember feeling very disappointed on my ride home from taking delivery. My speedmaster with mods seemed as quick even in freeway roll ons. So yeah, 13.4 surprises me, but it's also good to know. I do remember when i put tors and the tors tune on it tho the difference was quite surprising. Made the 1600 *almost* acceptable for it's size.

Your spot on Ray .I,ve been in the drag racing sceen for a long time(cars) although haven,t raced for a few years now. a few years back I built a car for a good mate of mine it was an XY falcon ute with a blown small block chev in it . He would go down the quarter in a cloud of tyre smoke and do a 10.5 .then id hop in it and do 9.2 quarter .So there is a lot more to quarter mile times than just having big horse power

Dave now were talkin,,reaction time, tyer prep, experienced rider, light weight (compared to me ) and hope the fuck the belt drive dont snap
Dont know how much the big screen will hold it back, but when its ready we will give it a shot. I remember running a GSXR1000( worked) on my Hayabusa Those fuckers nearly pulled 160 in first gear, but i got him with a 10.8 , but my son lowered my Busa and got it to a 9.16. and a 9.6 stock hight.

Yes twas close Fab, i just didnt realize it was so bloody heavy.. But i might lighten the load next year
eg single riders seat no sissy bar and rack ,rear footboards removed + windscreen ,sticky rear , i reckon 10.8.

I know it goes hard , had a ball yesterday from the Brooklyn bridge up to the pie in sky chasing a BMW 1000rr ,he had a pillion
but i was still 100 kgs heavier, he got away through the corners , not by much ,i couldnt grind anymore off the brackets underneath
the footboards , had the sides of the tyers nicely grained up , but i did stay in front of his mate on the Gixer thou. Uno when u can straight line the corners
just before u get to the top, i hit the limiter in 3rd and nearly maxed out in 4th, up there,, and a little airborne
